Another expedition into the Cairngorms, this time though not into the mountains, Ok. I went a little way into the Cairngorms, more specifically we headed into the northern corries where winter had arrived, early as usual with a good dusting lower down and an impressive coating further up. As we rounded the path the low cloud which had hung around most of the day, lifted to reveal an almost alpine scene. We stayed until the sun dropped and made our way back. We'd hoped for a glimpse of a mountain hare; but it wasn't to be. I'm planning another trip into the area soon, with a view to photographing mountain hare in their winter colours.
